In 2000, Mansoor became the head coach of the Danish National RaceRunning Team and CPISRA gradually evolved to become the governing body of the RaceRunning sport. After the CPISRA World Championship included RaceRunning as an official event, summer camps and local programs started to spring up, catering to special needs children and adult athletes. In 1998, RaceRunning was introduced outside of Copenhagen to Portugal, Ireland, and Belgium. The prototype eventually became the Petra RaceRunner, which still serves the RaceRunning community today. Mansoor and his RaceRunner drew a lot of attention at the event, and the prototype he and Connie developed started to gain increasing popularity all over Denmark. On a RaceRunner, he was able to run faster, engage more power and move more naturally and upright compared to others who were pushing wheelchairs backwards. In 1991, Mansoor participated in the Robin Hood Games with his RaceRunner, an event organized by CPISRA. Using a broken bike, an office chair, and a pipe taken from a vacuum cleaner in their garage, Connie and Mansoor scraped together the first RaceRunner. In 1991, the Danish Paralympian and occupational therapist Connie Hansen started to work with Mansoor to build a device that would help him fulfill his athletic potential. Because Mansoor had spasticity from cerebral palsy, it was difficult for him to steer a regular wheelchair and brake with his own feet. In the 1980s, the Danish para-athlete Mansoor Siddiqi was participating in backward wheelchair racing, but the unsophisticated wheelchair design had become a barrier to his performance. And, of course, people of all abilities and ages can use it to walk around the neighborhood, go to the grocery store and run with their friends at the local park. Adults recovering from broken bones, stroke and other conditions can use the device as part of their rehabilitation plans. Children as young as 3 can practice walking on a RAD RaceRunner with their family. Individuals find that the RAD RaceRunners can often provide a greater level of movement and independence than gait-trainers, walkers, or even wheelchairs. While Frame Running began as a competitive sport, it is now a popular form of recreation and rehabilitation. To learn more about classifications in RaceRunning, visit Cerebral Palsy Sport or CPISRA. Like with many other adaptive sports, competitors are classified based on their disability, which allows athletes with similar physical challenges to compete on an even playing field. In competitive Frame Running, athletes run on a track in distances ranging from 40 to 5,000 meters against other runners. With more than 30 years of history, Frame Running is now a sport in the Paralympics and a major area of development for the Cerebral Palsy International Sports and Recreation Association (CPISRA). The frame supports athletes with mobility and balance impairments as they propel themselves forward independently using their legs. Frame Running is a sport where athletes run using three-wheeled running frames without pedals, like the RAD RaceRunner. This free software offers high compatibility, so even the most obscure ISO files will mount without any problems. Simply by mounting such an image as if it were a real disk, users can use it as if it was one. It's also worth mentioning that you can add DAEMON Tools Lite to Windows right on the desktop.ĭAEMON Tools Lite is an excellent tool for those users who work with disk images on a regular basis and want quick and easy access to them. It works on Windows 7 up to Windows 11 and supports high-resolution images of up to 32-bit color depth and 65535 colors and the latest ISO 9660 standard for CD images. The software does not require installation and can be used right after it has been downloaded and unpacked. It can only work with one file at a time, and there are no advanced features available, such as editing images or detailed configuration options. While the lite version is a free application, it has certain limitations, such as mounting speed and disk usage. In addition, the program is straightforward and unintrusive, so even the most inexperienced computer user will have no problems using it. With DAEMON Tools Lite, users can work with any disk image file with just a few mouse clicks. Another important feature is the ability to mount CD images that can then be used in place of physical disks when installing operating systems. For instance, an ISO file may contain a music album that can then be listened to on a computer without requiring any additional software. These images can, in turn, be used as if they were real disks. Therefore, you can get your images up and running without much hassle, making it a highly recommended application to pick up.One of the features of DAEMON Tools Lite is the ability to mount various disk images, including ISO files. Luckily, this version strips features down to the minimum you need for proper disc images and emulation. However, they might have been scared off because of how heavy the application is on resources. To ConcludeĪll in all, Daemon Tools Lite is a faster version of its predecessor. With the new Lite tool, you won’t notice you’re even using an application, thanks to the UI. Dealing with older applications can be a pain. The GUI is vastly improved in this version. If you’re not someone who wants to spend all day troubleshooting poor code, then skip the hassle. Daemon Tools Lite lets you get the full potential of the original software for 90% of its uses. But now, it turns out that this version offers better speed, usability, and convenience. People used to brag about Full all the time. Whether you want to mount or unmount something or view it, it’s all available at the lower right-hand side of your screen when you need it. The tray agent lets you toggle back and forth between your mounted images. The app doesn’t just look and feel great (as you would expect either way), but it also stays out of your way. The taskbar agent is quite handy and lets you bypass many of the complications of this software with easy options instead. The GUI doesn’t look like it was stuck in 1995, a problem with many programs today. Plus, if you have some media files from your optical drives, you can make disc images from the following formats: APE, MDX, MDS, and ISO. You can also mount images from various formats: MDS, MDX, VDI, VMDK, ISCSI, TC, VHD, NRG, BWT, B6T, B5T, CDI, ISZ, CCD, IMG, ISO, and MDF. You can do emulation on up to four devices. Therefore, you can get started using this no matter what kind of PC you currently own. The average user doesn’t need many features that consume RAM and computing power. This version of Daemon Tools is probably the lightest they have ever released. The image collection is easy to handle with the help of an intuitive manager.Įven though Windows 10 has improved a lot over previous iterations, it’s nice to know there is a piece of software that can make your life easier. Users are also given the option to compress these images and protect them with a password. DAEMON Tools Lite is a free virtual drive emulation tool that can mount almost all image files to a virtual drive and create ISO, MDF, and MDX images from CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs.
